It’s been a busy few days, with a couple of especially meaningful events.
On Thursday (also my birthday!), I was glad to be able to attend the “Strong Women Unite” reception at the Governor’s Western Residence, hosted by the Democratic Women of Buncombe County.
On Saturday, I participated in a potluck meet-the-candidates event hosted by the East Asheville Cluster of Buncombe Dems, attended by several dozen engaged residents. (Thanks to fellow City Council candidate Maggie Ullman for the photo!)
Both events were filled with people who care deeply about the future of our city, our state, and our nation—and are prepared to take action to make things better. And that includes the other candidates who also joined in. We’re lucky to have good folks to choose from!
The best antidote to the daily onslaught of awful news is to get out and connect with the community of folks who are doing their best to make constructive change. The people with compassionate hearts. The quiet, generous souls who every day contribute to the well-being of our city.
I know nothing makes me more hopeful and inspires me more. Come join us!
